In a total of 28 sections of St. Scholastica’s Academy Marikina [High School Department], a fresh and unique class, III – St. Milburga o4-o5 is one of them. Ever since the opening of the school year, everyone got puzzled about this new section they saw upon reading the lists of students.

Girl #1: “uy! Ano section mo? Nakita mo ba kung ano section ko?”

Girl#2: “nako! Epal.. St. Gertrude ako! Hindi ko nakita yung name mo eh, pero may nakita kong St. Milburga do’n!”

Girl#1: “ano yun? Bago? Ano yung nawala?”

Girl#2: yung mechtilde! Pero baka typo-error lang yun! Wirdo nga eh! O baka nman twin sister ng Walburga?”

Girl#1: “hahaha!! Imbento talaga ang admin!”

During the first two weeks of classes, that’s the time wherein bad comments were everyday thrown to our section. We often hear the students passing by our classroom say:

“huh? Milburga? Ang jologsss..” or “Milburga? Ambaho nman nu’n!” and many others.

But of course, we asked our adviser, Mrs. Zamora, about the replacement of St. Mechtilde. She just told us that St. Milburga is a new Benedictine nun that is canonized.

Honestly, we were not satisfied for that simple answer so one time we asked Ms. Medina [Music Teacher] about it. She said that, it is to remove the “bad luck” brought by the previous classes of St. Mechtilde. “sa mga nakaraang classes ng St. Mechtilde, laging may pinaka… pinakamaingay, pinakamagulo basta madami. But inspite all that, marami rin ang magagaling sa klase nila.”

Other than that, whatever the reason/s is/are behind it, the Milburgers agreed that we won’t let those critics continue throwing such comments on our class. “We will make this section shine!”

We live by these words… “WE CAN, WE MUST, WE WILL”. This is what we voted for as the quotation of our class in our first activity with Mrs. de Dios [English teacher].

This is your chance to know the 1st batch of III - St. Milburga in the history of SSAM, so feel free to explore the whole site and you can also leave your messages on our Bulletin Board.
